It's Not Hard

Balancing school and three kids is an adventure. My classes are in the morning so going to school isn't that different from working a first shift job. The kids come home from school, we do homework, eat supper, take baths, and then go through our bedtime routine. Usually by 8:00 all three kids are in their beds quietly drifting off to sleep. Not bad huh?! Who wouldn't love to have their kids snug in bed by 8pm, right? But, then comes my study time. This is what sets school apart from working. I never had to bring work home with me and work on it for hours after my kids were in bed. Sunday night I was in bed by 12am, Monday and Tuesday night it was 1am (and I get up at 5:30). Usually by Thursday the lack of sleep is starting to get to me so I have worried all day about how late I would be up tonight studying for my anatomy lab quiz tomorrow. Finally around 6pm it dawned on me that...I don't have lab tomorrow!!! That quiz I was so worried about isn't until next Tuesday!!! So I am very excited to report that it is 8:55pm and I am heading to bed!!!! Yep, "It's Not Hard" to please me :-)

To Tell the Truth

"Mommmyyyy!!!! Kason pooped!" Leia announced from the livingroom. "Okay Leia, I'll be right there" I replied. I dried my hands, went to the livingroom and picked up Kason. I am not exactly sure how smelling his bottom became a regular custom at our house, but after taking a nice whiff, I turned to Leia and said (jokingly) "I don't smell anything Leia. Are you sure?" and then said to Kason "Is Sissy telling stories on the baby?". Leia's reply to my comment...

"NO! Kason's just trying to get me in trouble! He pooped and just sucked it back in!!!"

Gone

Has anyone seen my creativity anywhere? By the date of my last blog post, it appears that I probably lost it somewhere between an anatomy & physiology classroom and the microbiology lab. I have tried to write several posts but they all ended up sounding like a "poor, poor, pitaful me" posts and that is not me. Please don't get me wrong, things are going really good for me. I have 3 beautiful, healthy children and God has provided a way for me to get my education AND not have to work while I'm doing it! He has also provided me childcare in the form of Kason's wonderful grandmother who treats my girls just the same as she does her grandson :) Yes, I am blessed and I have tons to be thankful for. But I am bad to forget all that when I am sitting at my kitchen table at 2am studying for yet another test. Every attempt I have made at blogging has been an opportunity to vent and let's face it, who wants to read a blog where all that person does is rant. So I wrote them, felt better, then deleted them all. Helps me but not too exciting to my two readers ;)

Sooo......Wow! There are a lot of things to catch you up on. Of course you know my wonderful son was born on September 3rd, 2010 weighing 8lbs 10oz. He is now 6 months old and 20 pounds! I am guilty of calling him "fat boy" on more than one occasion but he doesn't seem to mind. He grins and giggles at me anyway. It looks like his official nickname is going to be "Dooder". I'm not sure where I came up with that but is has stuck. Bless his heart, it's not like the child doesn't have a hard enough time growing up with two older sisters but then his momma has to slap some horrible nickname on him too. It will be okay though, I promise not to write it on the football helmet we are going to use to hide all the glitter his sisters leave on his face :)

Macy and Leia both started school in the fall. Macy is in kindergarden and is loving it. She talks alot about her teacher Ms. Renee and the teaching assistant Ms. Street (who used to babysit me!) but other than that it appears that Macy may very well be the only girl in her room. Now boys....Oh, there are lots of boys in her class and apparently they take turns being her boyfriend. ~sigh~ I didn't expect that to happen so soon.

Leia is in pre-K and would go 7 days a week if she could. She has 2 bff's (Sara and Mason) and the three of them are inseperable. At the beginning of the year, Sara's mom had to take her to 3 different Wal*marts to find Sara and outfit that matched one of Leia's. They are even going to play soccer together this summer. Yes, you read that right...I am going to be a soccer mom! lol

As for me, school has been going great! I will be applying to nursing school this fall (along with probably 400 other people) but they only take 70 students a year! Admission is VERY competative and is based mostly on your GPA and your test scores on the entrance exam. I have a 4.0 but I haven't taken the entrance exam yet. I am not telling you this to brag, I am telling you because I feel I have done all I can humanly do to get in and now I need your help. Please start praying now that I will get in. The acceptance/denial letters go out in July so I figure praying continually for 4 months should get God's attention. I'm hoping it works like tormenting your parents into giving you what you want ;)
I will leave you with a few pictures. I wish I could say that I will post again soon, but between school, entrance exams, kids, and the adventures of motherhood I can't make any promises. I can tell you that I'm not going to be taking any summer classes so after May I am out of excuses ;)
